Allows Users to Employ the Most Accurate Satellite Stereo Imagery for Detailed Terrain, Feature, & Intelligence Production
ERDAS Inc. has announced support for WorldView-1 satellite products in ERDAS IMAGINEÒ and LPS. By supporting WorldView-1 imagery, ERDAS IMAGINE and LPS will empower ERDAS users such as GEOINT and military analysts, state and local governments, civil organizations, first responders and non-governmental organizations to transform the satellite information into timely, relevant and accurate geospatial intelligence.
ERDAS support for WorldView-1 data in most available formats is included in the ERDAS IMAGINE and LPS 9.2 releases. SP1 completes this capability by providing specific support for the NCDRD rigorous model format. Users benefit from the ability to exploit WorldView-1 imagery with ERDAS products, as the minimal pre-processing requirements combined with sophisticated ERDAS production capabilities allows them to maximize efforts geared toward delivering actionable intelligence and highly accurate terrain, feature and image products.
“Commercial satellite imagery, such as that generated by WorldView-1, has been consumed at a rapidly increasing rate for Department of Defense, intelligence and civil applications,” said Tom Lobonc, Director of Photogrammetry and Defense Products, ERDAS. “We have added support for WorldView-1 imagery to ensure that our users immediately benefit from an unprecedented pairing of this high-resolution, high-accuracy satellite stereo imagery with the most sophisticated, comprehensive and flexible geospatial solutions available.”
Owned and operated by Digital Globe, WorldView-1 was launched in 2007 to provide highly detailed imagery for precise map creation, change detection and in-depth image analysis. WorldView-1 is a panchromatic imaging system featuring half-meter resolution imagery.
